The Egg chair was created in 1958 whenArne Jacobsen was commissioned to design the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. He designed several pieces, including the famous Egg chair, which was an immediate success thanks to its organic, comfortable and welcoming lines. Its design combines aesthetics and practicality, modernity and classicism. This icon of Scandinavian design from the 1950s has the particularity of finding its place with great ease in all different interiors, which is surely the reason for its great success!

The Egg chair has a moulded fibreglass shell, upholstered in polyurethane foam, covered in fabric or leather and a swivel aluminium base. The Egg chair ensures unique comfort while providing a singular and timeless Scandinavian look.

It has been produced by Fritz Hansen since its creation in 1958.
